Hurricane Tools are by far the best value for the dollar anywhere. I like the flute design on this gouge and I use it with a swept back grind Ellsworth style. The handle is well made and just the right length
This is a great tool for the price, I am a new to intermediate turner and I like saving about $50 compared to other similar tools from other brands. I did change the grind on it to match my style.
Although I've only used it a little while, I'm happy with my purchase. I like that it keeps an edge, and the heft and balance are good for me. I will probably round off the handle some to better fit my hands.
Just what I was needing for my 8" bowls .
Love it stays sharp
